5 Tips To Boost Your Creativity

Written by Don Adriano

Whether you’re a writer, a musician, or just person looking for new ideas, your creativity is important. As children, our minds are filled with wonder and creative ideas, but as we grow into adults, we lose that creative spark we had as children.

You can ignite that spark! You don’t have to lose your creativity or suffer from writer’s block if you do some things to help boost your creative mind.

Participate In Creative Activities

To be creative, you have to participate in creative activities. Take some time each week to do so. Whether it’s writing in a journal or doodling on paper, you’re using your creativity.

Even something as simple as sitting down with your children and coloring pictures or finger painting is a good way to get your ideas flowing and boost your creativeness.

Take Risks

Taking risks is all about fighting off the fear of failure. You must be willing to take risks to advance your skills and your creative thoughts.

Mistakes are a part of life, and you learn from them. If you have a new idea to pitch to the boss, do it. You may be surprised what comes from taking risks and how much further it can expand your mind.

Don’t be afraid of new ideas. New is different, fresh, and can be exciting. Bounce new ideas of others to see how they react. A good reaction can help calm your fears.

Brainstorming is an important tool for boosting creativity and coming up with new ideas. The goal of brainstorming is to come up with as many ideas as you can in short amount of time. To do so, you must not judge or criticize the ideas as they flow from you.

Once you’ve got them jotted down, you can take a closer look and decide which ones are keepers. You’ll be surprised how well ideas flow when there are no judgments or restrictions.

Become A Daydreamer

Being too focused on something can hinder your thought process and stifle your creativity. If you find a quiet place with no distractions, you can sit back and let your might wander.

Daydreaming is about letting your mind go—free to delve into your subconscious where ideas hide. Once you start daydreaming, you may be surprised at all the ideas that bubble up to the conscious surface.

Get Up And Move

Exercise not only gets your heart pumping, it also gets your creative juices flowing.

Talking a walk in the fresh air, stretching your legs, and taking in the scenery is the good way to boost creativity.

While you’re strolling around the neighborhood, your mind clears. This allows you to think of new things and clear away mental cobwebs.

While your exercising, your brain releases a feel-good substance, known as dopamine, and you’re more creative when you are feeling your best.

Everyone has creativity. Some people just know how to get it flowing to make good use of their ideas. Follow these steps to boost your creativity. You may be surprised what ideas surface!
