Have you recently found that you are not attending church as often as you used to? Maybe you would still like to go to church regularly but you simply seem to have so many things getting in the way. It is important to make sure that you are taking a moment to reflect on the following three signs that it is time to get back to church as soon as possible. This way, you will not continue down a bad path.

Your Fuse is Getting Shorter

Even if you are someone that has a quick temper by nature, it is vital that you learn how to contain it. You might have even learned how to do that through your time in church.

Of course, the longer you stay away from the church, the less likely those lessons will stick with you.

Therefore, you will want to quickly get back to church if you notice any of the following:

  • You are snapping quicker at the kids
  • You are developing a bad case of road rage
  • You are no longer able to be polite when someone irritates you
  • You are not kindly listening to your spouse anymore

If you notice any of those signs or any others that stand out, you will want to start going back to church. This way, you can be reminded of the dangers of a loud temper and how you can control it.

You Are Starting to Question Your Faith

When you step away from the church and allow the media and non-believers to influence you, you might be more susceptible to losing some of your faith. This is not a good thing.

If you have found yourself starting to question everything that you have come to accept as your truth, you will want to return to church.

Within a short amount of time, you should have no problem realizing that your faith is still there. It just needed a little jump start again.

The Kids Are Losing Sight of What You Have Taught Them

Maybe your reasoning for getting back to church is more about the kids than you. Maybe you are just fine and holding strong even without the weekly church sermons.

However, since children are generally not as grounded in their faith, they might find themselves veering off from what they have been taught.

Should you notice that your children are:

  • Talking back more
  • Mocking religion
  • Becoming bullies
  • Acting out
  • Becoming too involved with boyfriends and girlfriends
  • Becoming loud and violent

Should you notice such things happening in your life or in the life of your immediate family, you will want to get back to church for the next scheduled service. Then, you will need to make sure that you are making it a habit so that you will continue to benefit from their services.

Once you get back into the swing of things, you won’t remember why you ever backed off from the church, to begin with.
